hands of sanatiser

Planning: Aim: Hands On Fire Experiment Equipment: - Tray - Hand Sanitise - Lighter - Woollen Glove - An Adult (To Supervise)

Method: 1- Grab a Tray
 2- Grab the Hand sanitise
3- Then squirt the hand sanitise 6 times on the tray
4- Grab a lighter
5- And fire up the squirts of hand sanitise with the lighter
 6- Put the lighter away
7- Make sure the fire is blue
8- Now use the woollen glove to slide across the fire
9- If the woollen glove is not burnt, then you should be ready to try it on your hands

The First Science Experiment Is What We Are Doing. to change the colour put these powdered elements Orange is calcium chloride light orange is sodium chloride yellow is barium chloride red is strontium chloride of strontium nitrate apple green is borax hot pink is lithium chloride blue is copper chloride , butane green is copper sulfate ,doric acid violet is 3 parts of potassium sulfate and 1 part of potassium nitrate Results: In these videos we are setting hand sanitizer on fire and putting different chemicals on the hand sanitizer and it was changing the colour

Do’s and dont’s for Kete choice

Here is my kete choice activity it is about the turtles.
People do not care for the animals in our environment.
Sometimes to a turtle a plastic bag is a jellyfish.
I did it so we can all save the animals.
I hope you enjoy :) :)

Finding Drinking Water

Finding Drinking Water

Purpose:
I want to be able to turn salty ocean water into drinkable water

Research:

Making Ocean Water Drinkable by King of Random

Bottle Distillation by Nighthawk Light

Aim:
I want to find out how to separate the salt from the salty water.

Equipment:
  • two empty beer bottles
  • bunsen burner
  • salt water
  • stand and clamps
  • metal tray pans
  • Sand
  • damp rag

Method:
  1. Put some salt water into a empty beer bottle be able to turn it on its side with out the water coming out.
  2. Put one pan above the bunsen burner and the other the same height
  3. Put sand in the trays
  4. put the bottles firmly in the sand
  5. wet the sand with the bottle in the not above the flame and put the damp rag on the bottle
  6. turn on the fire on
  7. wait about 15 minutes
Prediction:
it will lose most of the water

Results:
need to wait

Conclusion:
will find out after results

Evaluanation:
will find out after conclusion.

Gymanaicst

In PE, we are starting  Gymanaicst.
I do not like Gymanaicst at all  Because it is all the bending and flexing.
At the end of the period, I felt it was good to learn.
I like it now because it is so fun to stretch and jump and get fit.

Hauora in Science

My aim is to see if   Cucumber will stay healthy with water or if vinegar will keep it healthy.

Method
In one jar put a Cucumber with 200 ml of water and another jar put one Cucumber and 200 ml of vinegar

Equipment

  1. 2 Cucumber
  2. 200 ml water
  3. 200 ml of Sarson's Malt Vinegar
  4. 2 large jars
Results

Vinegar

Water

Water Smell-The Smell hasn't changed it smells like Cucumber
Vinegar Smell-The smell change, Now it smells like gherkin
Water Touch-It stayed like it It is so hard
Vinegar Touch-The Vinegar Made the Cucumber go softer
Water Sight- It stayed lite Green colour
Vinegar Sight- The Vinegar with the Cucumber  made it went to are dark colour
Water Hear-You can not hear anything
Vinegar Hear-You can not hear anything
Water Taste-
Vinegar Taste-it taste like I was so hot but it was so soft and sewer

Here are the reasons why it's safe to eat a cucumber that was stored in vinegar for about one week and one day:
The first and the main reason is that I personally ate all of it and nothing has happened to me after that.
The second reason is if you would try to make gherkins at home you would need the same ingredients as I used for my experiment. You can also google a recipe for gherkins and check it out yourself if you don't believe me!  These ingredients are a cucumber, vinegar and glass jars. It would taste more like the ones from the supermarket if I would have added some onions and salt and some spices, but I'm sure that my one was so yummier and if I were to sell it people would like it more than the one from Pak'n'save.
The third and my favourite reason is that keeping a cucumber in vinegar is much healthier than keeping it without vinegar. A cucumber stored in a fridge without any preservatives would go bad in a week and you wouldn't be able to eat it… Or if you would decide to eat it anyway, you would get really sick. So it was fun at the end as I was almost the only lucky one in my class who got a chance to try my self-made gherkin after the experiment!

How to be safe in Science lab

The purpose of this experiment to learn how to follow instructions and BE SAFE.
DO NOT TRY THIS WITHOUT SUPERVISION OF A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL.

5.  To get rid of the fire, SLOWLY move your hands a part.
6.  DO NOT DROP YOUR HANDS BELOW YOUR EYE LEVEL because fire goes up and you will set yourself on fire.

Equipment in Science

Beaker
Beaker (glassware) A beaker is a simple container for stirring, mixing and heating liquids commonly used in many laboratories. Beakers are generally cylindrical in shape, with a flat bottom. Most also have a small spout (or "beak") to aid pouring as shown in the picture.

Funnel
funnel is a pipe with a wide (often conical) mouth and a narrow stem. It is used to channel liquid or fine-grained substances into containers with a small opening. Without a funnel, spillage may occur. Funnels are usually made of stainless steel, aluminium, glass, or plastic.

Dim pall tray
You can add small amounts of chemicals or water into several "dimples" located

thermometer
Thermometers are used to see if you have a fever or tell you how cold it is outside. Made up of thermal (heat) and meter (measuring device), the meaning of the word thermometer is pretty straightforward. Thermometers measure temperatures in degrees, according to either the Celsius or Fahrenheit system.
Tongs
Details. This 10" chrome plated scissor tong is ideal for a variety of food serving tasks! Thanks to its white plastic coated handle, your hands stay protected from heat when handling tasks like grilling. ... Use these standard scissor tongs for tasks like removing hot dogs, hot bacon, and barbecue items from the grill.
Pipe Clay Triangle
A pipeclay triangle is a piece of laboratory apparatus that is used to support a crucible being heated by a Bunsen burner or other heat source. It is made of wires strung in an equilateral triangle on which are strung hollow ceramic, normally fire clay, tubes. The triangle is usually supported on a tripod or iron ring.

Today we have used a sewing machine.
We were sewing paper with  pictures on it.
I have added some pictures and videos of my work.
